Lesson 7 Maintaining your stores

Maintaining your store is easy. We have used the familiar buttons to maintain the stores:

  • Edit buttons to make changes
  • Delete or Remove buttons to remove the data
  • Save buttons to save the changes you made
  • Cancel buttons to void the changes you made

Select the ‘computer’ store. In this lesson, you will familiarize yourself with the different screens to maintain your store. Even though we may not make any changes, we suggest you click on the indicated buttons and go to the particular screens to get yourself accustomed to the steps.

A feature, which you may like to take note, is the Item Duplication function. This is ideal if you have numerous items with similar Sub Fields. E.g. Children’s shirts. Men’s shirts, Ladies’ shirts each with the same Sub Fields, S-Small, M-Medium, L-Large, XL-Extra Large sizes.

Maintaining the Store Profile

Click on the ‘Store Profile’ button at the Store Editor screen.
Here you can change the Store Information, the Payment Information, and Shipping Information by selecting the respective tabs.

At the bottom of this screen, click on ‘Tax Setup’ and ‘Default Shipping Charge Setup’ to change how you charge for the taxes and shipping.
Always remember to click on the ‘Save’ button to save the changes you made.

Maintaining the Store Configuration

Click on the ‘Store Config’ to change the next invoice number, the HTML header, the shopping cart configuration, the server configuration and the server fields, the checkout message and the thank you message.

Maintaining the Store Front Page

Click on the ‘Store Front Page’ to change the store logos, the meta tags and the welcome messages.

Maintaining the Category/Moving the Category

First select the category or subcategory.
Click on the ‘Edit’ button in the Category Edit section to make changes to the Category.
Before you can delete the category, the program will always prompt you to confirm your action.
To delete a category/subcategory, again you first select the category/subcategory.

Click on the ‘Remove’ button. Click ‘No’ if you wish to reverse your decision.
Click ‘Yes’ if you wish to proceed with the removal.
The program then prompts you if you wish to move this category/subcategory to a different category/subcategory.

Click ‘Yes’ to move it to a different category/subcategory.
Click ‘No’ and the category/subcategory will be removed.

Maintaining the Item

First select the item.

Click on the ’Edit’ button in the Item Edit section to make changes to the Item.
Click on the ‘Delete’ button to remove the item.
If you have many items with similar Sub Fields and component prices, you can duplicate them using the ‘Duplicate’ button.

Click on the ‘Printer’ category and then click on the ‘ABC Laser Printer’ you entered in Lesson 4.
Click on the ‘Duplicate’ button.
The program then displays the ‘Old Item ID’ and ‘Old Item Name’ and prompts you to enter the ‘New Item ID’ and ‘New Item Name.’
Enter ’19’ as the New Item ID and ‘ABC Inkjet Printer’ as the New Item Name.
Click ‘Ok.’
You will see the new item ABC Inkjet Printer with the same Sub Fields as the ABC Laser Printer.
Exit to the Main Zilron StoreCreator screen.
You can delete a store by using the ‘Delete Store’ button.
Since we will not be using the ‘ABC Computers’ store anymore, you can delete it from your hard drive.
Click on the ‘Delete Store’ button, select ‘abc’ and click on the ‘Select’ button.
You are asked to confirm the deletion. Click ‘Yes’ to remove the store or ‘No’ to keep the store.

Modifying All Item Prices at once

This is new to version 4. This allows you to change all the item prices by a user defined factor.
There are many uses for this:
-express the prices in a different currency
-display the wholesale prices
-storewide price discount or increase

Click on the 'Modify All Item Prices At Once' button.
On the Factor field enter the amount of increase or decrease.

If you want to have a 10% discount, you would enter 0.95.
If you want to have a 15% increase, you would enter 1.15.

Unless you check any of the Old Price option fields at the bottom section, all Items' Old Prices remain the same as before.

Do not enter 0 (zero) unless you want to give everything away!
