Lesson 6 Configuring your stores

The program lets you customize your store. You can customize the store colors, the background images, the starting invoice number, the check out/thank you messages, the colors of shopping cart page, the colors on your order forms, the welcome messages…

Select the ‘computer’ store.
At the Store Editor screen, click on the ‘Store Config’ button.
At the top of this screen, you can choose the starting invoice number and alignment of the texts. There is also an HTML color reference chart to assist you. Note that in each of the color fields, you can enter either the RGB hex color code (preferred) or the basic 16 color words like blue, red, black etc. The Hex color code offers you up to 16 millions of colors. Note the colors you set up here may be overwritten by what are indicated in the individual template files.

Notice this screen is divided into three sections:
1. The HTML header section allows you specify your store color, color for your text, background image, colors of the links, active links, visited links. The eight ‘Additional colors’ are for template use.
2. The Shopping Cart Configuration section allows you to customize the colors for your shopping cart page. Your customers can view the shopping cart page either after selecting an item (you can turn off the option to display the shopping cart page) or clicking on view cart button.
3. The Server Configuration section allows you to customize the colors on the order forms which reside on our server.

Click on the ‘Server Fields’ button. This takes you to a dialog where you can choose whether to display certain fields and whether to check if the fields are empty. This ensures your customers will provide the information that you need to fulfill the orders.

If you are not accepting credit card payments, then leave the Card Name and Card Number fields unchecked.

Once you are satisfied that these ‘Server Fields’ are set up properly, click ‘Ok’ to exit to the Store Configuration screen.
Click ‘Ok’ to get back to the Store Editor screen.
