Lesson 5 Publishing your stores

Once your store items (products or services) are set up, you are ready to publish your store. When you publish the store, the program will automatically generate all the html files and Javascript files necessary for your online store. The program uses your store data and the template you selected to create these files. The program places these files in a folder named after the Store ID that you entered in Lesson 1 Setting up Your Store.
Do not worry about selecting the wrong template, you can publish the store as often as you like.
If you wish to create the same store with different templates, please see Lesson 9 Creating Multiple Stores. The steps to creating your own templates are explained in Lesson 11Learning How to Customize your Stores Using Templates.

Select the ‘computer’ store.
At the Store Editor Screen, click on the ‘Publish’ button.
You are presented with a selection of templates.
If the preview images are available for the selected templates, you can click on the ‘Preview’ button to view the template.

Select fancy1.ini or any template.
Leave the ‘Skip next dialog setup’ checked. Uncheck this box gives you a chance to confirm that you have set up your state/province and country correctly. Setting up the correct state/province is essential for the program to calculate the taxes properly.
Click on the ‘Select’ button.

You are presented with several scripts. See Chapter 7 of the User Guide for a detailed discussion of these scripts.
You will see a brief description of the script at the bottom section of the dialogue.
Select the first 'checkout.cgi' script.

You are asked to select the default charset for the HTML pages generated by our program. Selecting the correct charset tells the browser what kind of text it is. For most web pages in English, select the default 'iso-8895-1'.

At the bottom section, unless you use a foreign language, select the 'StoreCreator.cpp' javascript.
After the customers select an item, we now allow you to turn on or off:
-the pop up prompt
-shopping cart page.
Click Ok after you made your selection.

On the next screen, click on the ‘Start’ button.

You can now preview your store right from your PC.
Click on the ‘Preview’ button.
A new browser window will open up.

Return to Zilron StoreCreator by clicking on the Zilron icon on your task bar (Do not re-start Zilron StoreCreator program).
Click on the ‘View Item List’ button to get a quick preview of your store item list.
To return to Zilron StoreCreator program, click on the ‘Done’ button.

Click on the ‘Exit’ button at the Store Editor screen if you do not wish to proceed with the next lesson immediately. The program will prompt you to save your data, click ‘Yes.’
