Chapter 5 – Creating, Maintaining, Deleting a Store

Creating a store

Setting up the store information

  • New Store>Step 1>Step 2>Step 3>StoreCreator Wizard

From the Store Editor screen you can do the following:

Settting up the payment methods

  • Store Profile>Payment Info
  • Enter Payment info at top section
  • Enter Currency unit, select if the currency unit is displayed before or after the currency amount, or the currency amounts allow decimals.
  • Enter Payment options at bottom (selectable by visitors) - if necessary, delete some of the default payments
  • On each of the Payment/Billing methods, customize them further by clicking on the 'Customize Selected Payment Method'


  • Select whether the particular billing method is a:
    -Check (or cheque)
    -Credit Card (this is the most common, e.g. Visa, 
    -Fax (allows customers to print and then fax the orders)
    -No Payment (the orders are sent to you, the credit card or other payment info is excluded)
    -Purchase Order (if customers have established an account with you, only the orders with the Purchase Order number will be sent to you, no credit card information is collected)
    -Switch Card (a debit card system in UK similar to Debit Card in North America)
  • HIt 'Save' to save your payment options.

Setting up the shipping information

  • Store Profile>Shipping info
  • Enter Shipping info at top section
  • Enter Shipping options at bottom (selectable by visitors)


  • You will notice in each of the shipping methods, you can further specify the charges associated with the shipping method. If you do not customize the shipping method, our program will use the criteria in Default Shipping Charge Setup screen - see the column under Type in the above, you can tell each of the shipping methods is using a customized charge or the default shipping charge.


  • To customize, highlight that shipping method, then click on 'Customize Selected Shipping Method'
  • On the next screen, click on:
    -Use Default Shipping Charge - this is the default, that means charges will be calculated based on the 'Default Shipping Charge Setup' screen. 
    -Customize Shipping Charge - click this to customize the shipping charge
    -Special Shipping Charge Configuration - click this if you have a unique shipping option that we customize for you. You would have received the instructions from us by email.

    Note for the shipping charges to be calculated properly, make sure you have selected the State/Province and Country on the Tax Setup screen.
  • After you click on 'Customize Shipping Charge', on the next screen you can define your shipping charge criteria.


  • The shipping charge is based on the criteria you select. First, you have to decide if your shipping charge is:
    1. a minimum charge plus the calculated amount or
    2. a minimum charge or the calculated amount, whichever is higher.
  • Next you decide if you are calculating the shipping charge using:
    1. % of total order or
    2. weight or
    3. unit
  • Then you specify the minimum and shipping calculation in each of the three zones:
    1. Within your state/province
    2. Neighbouring state/province - still within the same country
    3. International - outside of your country
  • For each of the above zones, using:
    -Apply Max Charge
    -Apply Conditional Charge
    you can further determine whether there is a maximum or above a certain purchase amount, you can charge a flat rate.
  • Always test the calculations on your PC before you upload the store files to your server.

Setting up the taxes

  • Store Profile>Tax Setup
  • Uncheck ‘No Country Level Tax to be collected’
  • Check/Uncheck ‘Apply tax to shipping charge’
  • Enter Name of Tax
  • Enter Tax rate - e.g. 7 for 7% of tax rate, do not enter the % sign or 0.07.
  • Select Country
    You must select a Country and State/Province (below) to have taxes calculated properly.
  • Same with State/Province tax
  • For USA, Canada and Australia, you can add all states/provinces by clicking on the respective button
  • For other countries, you can enter the states/provinces and click on the ‘Add’ button
  • Select and Delete State/Province, if necessary
  • Hit Ok

Maintaining a store

Editing the store information

  • Select the store using Start>Programs>Zilron StoreCreator>Edit Store>Select>Store Profile
  • At the 'Store Info' tab, you can change 
    Store Information
    -Store Name
    -Company Information - name, address, phone...
    -Home page URL address - remember to include 'http://'
    -Email orders subject line info. Note the email address does not necessarily have to be the same as the registered email address where the orders are sent. Email address at this Store Info is for your customers to contact you.
    You can also choose to have the email message encrypted.
  • Save

Editing the location of Image files

  • If you want to keep your image files saved on different folders, click on 'Move Image Files'



    Make sure the sub-directory/folder is available on your server (website) as well. 
    If you are unsure of how to create sub-directories on your server, or how to keep the image files separate, you can leave them on the same directory.

Editing payments/shipping/taxes options

  • Select the store
  • Click on 'Store Profile' at the Store Editor Screen
  • On the next Store Profile screen, you can select each of the following tabs/buttons to edit your store information:
    -Store Info
    -Payment Info
    -Shipping Info
    -Move Image Files
    -Default Shipping Charge Setup
    -Tax Setup
    Each of the above has been covered in the preceding 'Creating a store' section

Deleting a store

  • Select the store, Start>Program>Zilron StoreCreator>Delete Store
