Chapter 3 – Installing and Starting Zilron StoreCreator

System Requirements

Zilron StoreCreator can run on an Apple Computer provided it has Windows emulation program like Virtual PC http://www.connectix.com/ or
SoftWindows http://www.fwb.com/ 

Installation Checklist

To run Zilron StoreCreator successfully, you need:

  • Minimum hardware as listed in previous section
  • Downloaded copy of the Zilron StoreCreator program
  • Key File that we send you after you register the program
  • Your store information like name, address, phone/fax number, email address
  • Your product data (descriptions and optional images)

We suggest you always make a backup copy of your key file and your store data.

To install Zilron StoreCreator:

  1. If you have not downloaded a copy of the software, you can obtain a copy from this site:

  2. Have your account ID and Password ready, register your software at

    http://www.zilron.com/storecreator/registration.html
  3. Locate the downloaded acmworld40.zip file and unzip this file by double clicking on it. (or acmworld40.zip on the CD) Unzip the files to a temporary folder. Remember the path to this temporary folder.
  4. Locate and double click on the Setup.exe file on this temporary folder. Follow the step-by-step instructions as they appear on the screen. The program and its components are installed in a folder called C:\Zilron\ZilronStoreCreator\, or, if you prefer, in a different drive and folder you specify during installation. The following program components are placed in subfolders of the folder you specify for the program files.

    Components:
    Some sample data files (*.zsd) and sample template specification files (*.ini) files.
    data – for future use
    manual – this online manual
    templates – sample templates
    upload – all the generated html files, images, *.js, *.cpp and any other required files for your stores are located here in each its own folder. You upload these files to your web site.

  5. Copy the Key File (accountID.key) to your ZilronStoreCreator folder.

Step 5 is an essential step prior to your using the program. We email you a key file after you register online. Note: Your program will not function properly if you do not have the key file.
The key file is an attachment to our email confirming your registration. If you use Eudora email program, locate the key file under the .../eudora/attach/accountID.key. Copy that accountID.key file to where you installed the Zilron StoreCreator program. e.g. If your accountID is 1999 then the key file will be 1999.key.

If you use Outlook Express email program, click on the attachment, click on the key file, choose 'Save it to disk' and locate your StoreCreator folder and save it in that folder.

Starting Zilron StoreCreator

The most common way to start Zilron StoreCreator is to use the Start button.

  1. Choose the Start button on the taskbar
  2. Choose Programs
  3. Choose ZilronStoreCreator folder
  4. Choose ZilronStoreCreator icon or double click on the icon

 

Quitting Zilron StoreCreator

  1. Exit the program by clicking on the X buttons on the top right of each screen.
  2. Click on the ‘Quit Zilron StoreCreator’ button.
  3. Click on ‘Yes’ to exit the program
