Installation Tips

Follow the steps in Chapter 3 to install the new version of Zilron StoreCreator. We recommend that you read the whole installation section before you begin, be sure you understand the steps to take and decisions you must make.

In addition, note the following:

• Register your program first before you start installing it.
• Be sure you have a copy of the key file that we send you after registration.
• Close all programs before proceeding to installing your program.

On the registration form - http://www.zilron.com/storecreator/registration.html:

Reg. email address - this is where your key file and orders will be sent - we call that registered email address

Rec. email address - this is the receiving email address where your key file will be sent. Leave it blank if it is the same as the registered email address. This field is provided for resellers and web designers who will use the key files to build the stores for their clients.

The company information provided on the form is for registration purpose and will be displayed on your program. You may specify different company names for your online stores.

Updating from Previous Versions

1. your key file (xxxx.key) e.g. 1234.key
2. your store database file (*.zsd) e.g. mystore.zsd
3. your store files (all files in ..\upload\mystore\*.*)
4. any customized templates (all files in ..\templates\customized_template\*.*)

Version 3 to Version 4
The program will not affect your version 3 data. Unless you choose to change it during installation, it will install the new version in a default folder (directory)
C:\Zilron\ZilronStoreCreator
You will be able to use Version 4 immediately.
 
Version 2 to Version 4
Do not try to install over the same folder (directory) as in version 2. Unless you choose to change it during installation, it will install the new version in a default folder (directory) 
C:\Zilron\Zilronstorecreator\
To update your data from previous version 2 and earlier to work with the new version of Zilron StoreCreator, you can import your old data (*.zsd) to the new version by using the ‘Import store from other directory’ (*.zsd) button from the main dialog screen. See Chapter 11 – Importing Your Database. You can use Windows commands to copy all the *. html, *.js and image files from the old Upload folder to the new Upload folder. Do not copy the old template files to the new folder as we now have a new template design system. For details, please read Chapter 8 – Creating Your Own Templates

Duplicate function, allows you to duplicate the stores

Move Image Files - creates a subdirectory to hold your image files

Shipping charge
Specify EITHER 
-a minimum or a calculated shipping charge whichever is higher OR
-a minimum plus a calculated shipping charge
Calculation can be based on % of sales, by weight, by quantity or a maximum for a zone

Payment methods
New payment method set up screen to allow user defining each method:
-check (cheque)
-credit card
-fax
-no payment
-purchase order
-Switch Card (similar to North American's debit card system)

Tax setup
Apply tax to EU countries
Auto addition of Australian states

Item volume discount - discount in % based on user defined criteria, copy similar discount criteria to other items
Advance Item properties for Out of Stock items or no shipping charge items

Allows user to select check out forms (cgi script) for various conditions:
checkout.cgi
encrypted.cgi
several foreign languages including Chinese and Japanese
Users can select to turn off the "Add this item" prompt and/or the Shopping Cart Page.

You should now read and follow the tutorials (Chapter 4 – Tutorial: Learning Zilron StoreCreator) just to familiarize yourself with the new features. Read and refer to the User Guide to find detailed instructions to help you use the new features. Experienced computer users and users from previous version can just skim over the Tutorials before starting to create their own stores.

To install Zilron StoreCreator, follow the instructions in Chapter 3, the next section of this manual.
